The flipped classroom is a pedagogical approach that inverts the traditional model of learning. Students interact on their own outside of class time using pre-recorded lectures, books, or other materials rather than receiving direct teaching in the classroom and practicing at home. This frees up classroom time for further in-depth investigation, practical application, and group projects. For our task we have to create a teaching video and a quiz for our flipped classroom.
One of the advantages of flipped classroom approach is that students have a space to learn and they don't feel confined in one learning method. Another advantage that we can call is that since this approach is different from the traditional teaching method, students can experience a breath of fresh air from all the other classes. On the other hand, this can also make some students leave their comfort zone that they are used to and become a disadvantage as well. Lastly, another disadvantage is that relying on technological materials can prove to be diffucult when technical problems occur or when there are not enough access to technology.
For our task we have to create a teaching video and a quiz for our flipped classroom. For the video we have used animaker. Every started very well but towards the middle and the end our problems started to occur. First issue that we had that audio recordings started glitching when we upload our sounds so we had to restart the browser couple of times and re-record everything again. The last problem was that after everything was done and we wanted to download the video, we saw a paywall because our video was 3 min long. To solve the problem, we used OBS studio to record our video while we play it on the animaker site. Overall animaker was decent but we would not have used it if we knew about the paywall.
